Edwin Aguirre-Aguilar, who police say is homeless, was taken into in Nassau County Police custody following an investigation into stolen jewelry and merchandise from two locations in Great Neck Plaza.
According to police, using video surveillance, they tracked down Aguirre-Aguilar after he allegedly stole from Ruby Divine Dining on Friday, Oct. 11 and from Macari Salon on Sunday, Oct. 20.
Aguirre-Aguilar was arrested and charged with two counts each of third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief.
Police noted that at the time of his arrest, there was an active warrant for Aguirre-Aguilar for unrelated charges. Aguirre-Aguilar was scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Monday, Oct. 28.
